Details:

  • The Thermomix TM31 is a German engineered machine manufactured in France
  • Culinary Team Canada has recently endorsed it and will be used it in their last world class competition, winning Gold.
  • Developed by over 120 Engineers and Technical experts.

With the Thermomix, it is fun!

  • It is designed for at-home use, but has become a favourite chef tool. The advantage for restaurant owners is that it can “make-to-order” food that usually takes one dedicated person in the kitchen to prepare. One specific example is Zabaglione. It takes 8 minutes from start to finish in the machine without anyone attending to it other then to put in the ingredients and set the time, temperature, and speed. One Thermomix machine can be used for a variety of processes, or dedicated to one specific purpose. Either way, it can be paid for in fairly short order by the time and grocery purchase money saved.
  • This is the 4th generation of the machine new to western Canada in November of 2007 and to Eastern Canada, 2006.
Functions: weighs, mills wheat to whipping egg whites, steams, fries, boils, bakes, juices, sautés, purees and so much more. The only way this machine is sold is through direct sales, and one must have a personal experience through a demonstration which is better than listing “can do’s” (three important settings: – time, temperature and speed – and it also measures weight up to 6 kilos).

Without seeing it in action, it is very difficult to conceptualize. It is just that revolutionary.

  8. Nancy says:

Hi Valerie, what units does the 120v thermomix measure in? I just bought an older 120v TM21 but it does not seem to have the same scale as my 240v thermomix. There are no instructions. For example, the measuring cap is 30g on the 240v thermomix but the 120v one says “1.0″ The 120v thermomix doesn’t register minimum weight until “0.5″ which is 20g on the 240v thermomix. thank you for any help!

    • Valerie says:

      Hi, Nancy
This I know. The TM31 measuring cup is 100ml everywhere. It weighs in 5 gram increments up to 100 grams, and then in 10 gram increments after that. (That is why minimum weight is not measured until you reach 5 grams). The machine will weigh up to 6 kilo and hold up to 2 litres. Do not let anything touch the machine while weighing. The scale is very sensitive. Don’t even move the chord. Sure hope this helps! :)

  12. Sandy says:

Before I make my decision to buy it. I need to know what happens if I move country and the voltage is different. I love this machine and I am currenty in the US which is 110V. However, I may move to Australia in the next year or two. They have 240V. What happens then? It would be a very expensive machine to give up.

    • Valerie says:

      HI, Sandy,
WHen you move from one country to another that has different voltage, you have to get your appliances adapted to that voltage. It is possible to do; however, usually more economical to sell and rebuy. Hope that helps.
      Valerie

  13. Cindy says:

How much? Payment plan? (in Canada)
    Thank you :)

  14. isabel says:

I too am interested in price and payment options…I live in germany but am moving back to the USA in less than 2 years…so pondering which one to get 110V or 240V…and if I purchase the 240V then an adapter or transformer when I return to the USA, won’t that affect the temperature…(is this machine dual voltage?) I currently have US appliances and use an adapter or transformer to convert the voltage…and I notice a difference in the heating…please advise…thanks isabel

  15. becky says:

I have the same question as Isabel. Is this machine dual voltage? Thank you.

    • Valerie says:

      Becky,
The Thermomix is not dual voltage. You can buy 220 volt machines in countries that use that electrical current, and 110 here. :)
      Valerie

  16. valentina barca says:

Hi, just moved to US and I have the Thermonix (Bimbi in Italy). Do you know the name of a converter I can buy in order to use it here? A normal converter wont work as the Bimbi uses 2000 watt power energy to work

    Thanks

    • Valerie says:

      Valentina,
I do not know, but I do know that many people with the european machines take them to electrical stores and pay around 100 to 150 to have them converted in the US, so it can be done.
      Hope this helps! :)
      Valerie

  17. isabel says:

another option for those pondering whether to buy a 110v or 240v machines is to have your electrician install a 240V outlet (in the USA) or vice versa, since the machine is not dual voltage; may be cheaper than buying a transformer. My friend moved to Georgia (USA) and took her awesome european cappuccino maker with her; all she did was get her electrician install 240v outlets in her kitchen and walla, instant european voltage and evidently not too hard or expensive to do.
