Fresh Cherry Slice

Ingredients

Ingredients for the Crust:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar

Ingredients for the Filling:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp . baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh local cherries , pitted and quartered
  • 1/2 tsp . vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp . salt
  • 1 cup local walnuts , chopped

Instructions

Instructions for the Crust:

  1. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour mixed with 2 tbsp icing sugar
  2. Press into 9x9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes
  3. Set Aside

Instructions for the Filling:

  1. Combine eggs, sugar, flour and baking powder
  2. Add cherries, vanilla, salt, walnuts
  3. Spread mixture atop crust; bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

To double recipe use 9x13 pan
