A Canadian Foodie: One in Top 10 Canadian Food Bloggers May 2018

Top 10 Canadian Food Bloggers 2018: Jeanette Kierstead chose Me!

While I was flattered and tickled and thrilled and over the moon – who wouldn’t be – when Jeanette Kierstead wrote this article, it soon became apparent that Know Your Grinder had ulterior motives for having the article written when I was asked to write a post about it and include it in my website a few times. That is never a consideration when a legitimate article is written without strings attached.

Of course, I didn’t initiate this. I was just contacted via Facebook by a gentleman letting me know it was happening. He later sent me the link, then asked for my thoughts then asked if I’d write about it then asked again and told me that a link back would really help him out – then had a colleague ask me to link back to it, too. She corrected calling me the wrong name after a while.

People are busy. We are all passionate about what we do, but one thing I take pride in is doing what I do with integrity. So, where does that leave me and this article?

I am still flattered that Jeanette Kierstead chose me if she did, because she likes what I do. However, the thought has crossed my mind that there was a little SEO searching going on to determine whose sites get the most traffic that might enhance their business. Of course, while thinking this, I am fully aware there are bigger and better sites than mine. So then, why me?

Thus, I’ll take it. I do have over 2000 unique readers on a bad day and over 5000 page views on the same bad day which are both considered mighty fine in the industry. Not a three-digit income by any means, but a reputable site. I am definitely reputable. I do work hard and love what I do. I do have many devoted and incredible readers that I have developed like-minded relationships with, and so, I deserve a little love. I sure do.

The top 10? Maybe, to some. What is the criteria? If it is page views and readers: nope. I used to be one of the top 5 in Canada, but not now. If it is content, could be I am in the top 10 for many. So, I’ll take it.

Thank you, Jeanette. Sincerely. You have never commented on any posts on my site. Most readers do not. So, that does not mean you are not a regular. But, I have just never “met” you.

And, if including me is a convoluted misconstrued and insincere coincidence – meaning you haven’t ever read anything I have written and just chose me for the link, then, oh well.

My readers acknowledge me and give me all the love I need and many have told me my site is a favourite of theirs, so here I am, giving you your link.
